I especially LOVE the way Bonnie states positively and emphatically that we WILL
“experience greater peace and discover who God truly made you to be – His beloved. You will hear God’s voice in new ways, experience His love more intimately, and revitalize your soul using simple tools of soul care to refresh your body and spirit. You will find your voice, rediscover your dreams, and find your spark of joy again.”
WOW – she’s right! That is exactly what I am experiencing through this journey of Whispers of Rest. YOU need this book, this journey, this healing, this revival of your soul.
Thank you, Bonnie, for bringing us back to our Beloved and to reaffirming that we, too, are His Beloved.
Starting with the first set of reflection questions, Bonnie has given us a well-written and thoughtful opportunity for us each to spend time each day reading, praying, journaling and reflecting on God designs for His beloved. The practice of the One Word Prayer is powerful indeed!
Bonnie’s personal sharing opened up my mind and heart to journal prayerfully, diligently and truthfully. She reminds us that God wants us to confide in Him about our journey and assures us that God is not judging us as our peers might – by our confidence, progress or productivity. Wow.
As I read and re-read these words, I was heart-struck. How did this lovely woman, who is likely a couple of decades younger than I, know so intimately the condition of my heart and mind?
“Since you and I were little girls, we’ve trained ourselves to be resourceful.
We don’t want to rely on anyone. We are educated and many of us are self-taught.
It’s a strength that’s made us resilient but there is a side effect: the loss of vulnerability.
We travel unknown.
We don’t feel comfortable letting someone in on our doubts and questions.
We confide in others but only after we’ve figured things out-
bleeding over into our conversations with God.
Holding back our hearts affects our relationship with God and with others. It even affects our prayers.”
Powerful, thought-and-heart-changing words for me most certainly!
May I heartily encourage you to purchase your own copy of this powerful devotional!?!?! You really will be changed for the better by traveling this 40-day journey.
I’ll be sharing more of my journey. . .
