Please tell us more about yourself and your salvation story.
My name is Nikola. I am 43, married to my beautiful wife Helen and we have two teenage girls – Annie (18 years old) and Miki (16.5 years old). My family is my greatest blessing. We are all involved in ministry and have started several churches so far, still pastoring two of them. Both my wife and I became believers in 1991-1992 and we never looked back. We felt the Lord’s love, His passion and we also saw our sin and what it was doing to the Lord, so we surrendered our life because we felt so drawn to our wonderful Master. He is the love of our life.
How did you become a published author?
I started writing 20 years ago and searched for options to become published. My main work – The Four in One Gospel of Jesus – somehow fell into the hands of the wonderful president of Nordskog Publishing and he offered me a contract, for which I am forever grateful.
How do you come up with the ideas for your books?
My books are like sermons, so ideas abound, since I am a preacher and Bible teacher. I have preached more than 1000 sermons myself. As a translator, I have also produced and distributed around the nation of Bulgaria, nearly 1000 Bulgarian versions of audio and video teachings by famous foreign preachers and teachers.
What sort of research do you do for your books?
Depending on the book, either serious theological sources like encyclopedias, concordances, maps, etc., like for The Four in One Gospel of Jesus I used Matthew Henry’s Tabular Harmony of the Gospels, the Orthodox Bible Charts, etc. If the book is lighter as a subject, then the Bible itself, a lot of prayer and books by other authors who shared something on the subject.
Why do you write? What keeps you motivated during creative slumps?
What is the main thing you want readers to take away from your books?
My passion, my energy, my life, my spiritual hunger for my Lord, my desire to serve Him with EVERYTHING I have.
How would you describe this special book to someone who has not heard of it yet.
The Four in One Gospel of Jesus portrays the life of our Lord Jesus Christ in a contextual and chronological manner.
Ever since I believed and read for the first time Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, I couldn’t but notice some stories were repeated in more than one Gospel, but each one would use additional details not present in the former one. So, the idea came to me to combine the Gospels chronologically and contextually, so that the fullness of each story is accomplished, without the repetitions and without adding or taking away anything from the Bible text itself. So, the book is basically the text of the four Gospels itself, and not an author’s paraphrase.
All the other harmonies of the Gospels are either in a Chart format, or just the texts from each Gospel are lined up one right next to each other.
The Four in One Gospel of Jesus is in a Novel format, which means everyone can read it like a book; but also, it is fully referenced, so at each given moment, one can see exactly which Scriptures are used in each blending.
Plus, it’s chronological, so the life of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is put into perspective, from beginning till He ascended to Heaven.
The Four in One Gospel of Jesus is a unique material, like no other on the market right now.
The Gospel of Matthew says that Jesus touched the hand of Peter’s mother-in-law, and the fever left her (8:15). In Mark it is written that Jesus took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her (1:31). Luke says that Jesus stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her (4:39). The fact that the fever left Peter’s mother-in-law is the same, while each Gospel writer adds a new element to the “process” of her healing and thus, to the whole picture.
In The Four in One Gospel of Jesus this passage would look like this:
“Jesus came, stood over her, rebuked the fever, took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her”.
So, we get the complete picture by adding and mixing all the words and details that are unique in each of the four Gospels. When the chronology is applied to the whole story of the life of Jesus, The Four in One Gospel of Jesus emerges.
